Report: Drew Gulak Released By WWE

Update: During Saturday’s WWE Backlash post-show press conference, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque clarified that Drew Gulak’s contract was simply not renewed.

Levesque was asked if Gulak’s reported release (by the outlets mentioned below) had anything to do with the misconduct allegations made by Ronda Rousey last month.

“First of all, if you’re going to cite news sources, pick good ones, that’s where I would start. Credible [ones] really, maybe. We release talent all of the time,” Triple H said. “We have — [the] NFL releases 4-500 people a year, players a year. We release talent all of the time, it’s part of what we do. You can’t just hire people, bring them in, keep hiring people and just keep bringing them in. So, an unfortunate part of the job is talent getting released.

“Can I say that he was released? He was not released,” he clarified. “His contract was just not renewed.”

Drew Gulak‘s time with WWE has come to an end.

Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Drew Gulak was among the group of talent released by the company. Johnson cited sources that the cuts were primarily made due to a lack of current creative plans, as the talent involved were “not being utilized and were not planned for anything in the near future.”

Ronda Rousey recently claimed that Drew Gulak grabbed the string on her sweatpants backstage at a WWE event. Gulak then claimed that it was an accident and said that he apologized. He was pulled from multiple appearances and removed from No Quarter Catch Crew on WWE programming. Gulak was subsequently written off of NXT TV.

Gulak had been with WWE since 2016. He is an eight-time 24/7 Champion and a former Cruiserweight Champion. He returned to NXT in 2022, and he had been a member of No Quarter Catch Crew until his removal from the group.
