Despite having no say in WWE‘s ongoing business, Vince McMahon has reportedly kept in touch with a handful of its superstars.
NBC News recently reported that McMahon has regularly kept in touch with John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Both of whom recently appeared at WrestleMania 40. Neither Cena’s nor Johnson’s representatives responded to NBC on the report. So it’s unclear in what capacity the sides talked.
McMahon resigned from his position as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings in January. In a new filing last month, it was revealed that McMahon was selling 5,350,000 shares of his TKO stock. The value at the time of the sale equates to $411,950,000.00.
In January, McMahon was sued by Janel Grant, who filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, in which she alleged that McMahon and Laurinaitis engaged in sexual assault and sex trafficking of her, among other offenses. Though a spokesperson for McMahon said the lawsuit was replete with lies, he resigned from WWE and TKO.
The Wall Street Journal also confirmed that Vince McMahon is under federal investigation for the allegations Grant made in her lawsuit.
