Piper Niven is thrilled about WWE‘s upcoming trip to Scotland.
Earlier this month, WWE announced the impending return of their Clash at the Castle premium live event. After the inaugural iteration wooed the fans of Wales, this year’s event will emanate from the land of Glasgow, Scotland. Scotland, of course, is home to many WWE Superstars, including Drew McIntyre, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Nikki Cross, and Piper Niven. As such, it is no surprise to learn that the announcement of Clash at the Castle has sparked major excitement for them, especially Piper Niven.
“This announcement was very, very satisfying for me because the people of Scotland have deserved this for such a long time,” Niven recently told Gorilla Position. “Without the British boom, it is my belief that there probably wouldn’t have been an NXT UK. Scotland was a massive part of that boom. Scotland was a huge part of that boom.”
“Most of the people that I’ve met by chance here this week [at WrestleMania 40] are Scottish. There’s such a huge fan base in Scotland, and they deserve this. They deserve this. So I’m very happy. I’m very proud for them. I hope that I’m there for them in that ring, and I hope they’ll be cheering for me.”
Shortly after the news of WWE’s return to Scotland emerged, Piper Niven made a return of her own as she and Chelsea Green battled Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Niven had previously been sidelined with a hand injury that she sustained during a training session in February.
