Rossy Ogawa Forms New Joshi Promotion “Marigold”

Months after his departure from STARDOM, Rossy Ogawa held a press conference to announce the establishment of his new joshi promotion: Marigold.

During the livestream, Rossy Ogawa revealed the name of his newly founded promotion to be “Dream Star Fighting Marigold”. He then revealed the members of Marigold’s initial roster one by one. The current lineup for the company’s in-ring talent is as follows:

  • Giulia
  • Utami Hayashishita
  • MIRAI
  • Mai Sakurai
  • Victoria Yuzuki (formerly Yuzuki in STARDOM)
  • Nanae Takahashi
  • Nao Ishikawa
  • Natsumi Sumikawa
  • Miku Aono
  • Misa Matsui
  • CHIAKI
  • Chika Goto
  • KOUKI

The first five women listed were previously reported to leave STARDOM to accompany Rossy Ogawa for Marigold’s startup. Natsumi Sumiwaka, Miku Aono, Misa Matsui, CHIAKI, Chika Goto, and KOUKI left Actwres girl’Z moments before the inaugural Marigold press conference.

Marigold Fields Forever

After announcing the roster, Ogawa then revealed the details for Marigold’s debut wrestling event. Marigold Fields Forever will be held live from the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on May 20th, 6:30PM JST. As of the time of writing, the following matches have been confirmed:

  • Main Event Tag Match: Giulia & TBA vs. Sareee vs. TBA
  • Singles Match: Nanae Takahashi vs. Victoria Yuzuki

Foreigners Zayda Steel, Myla Grace, and Bozilla will be joining Marigold for the promotion’s first tour as well.

At NOAH’s Wrestle Magic show on May 4th, Giulia will then be teaming up with Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI, and Mai Sakurai against Miyuki Takase, Sakuya, Nagisa Nozaki, and Takumi Iroha in a special showcase match.

Marigold’s official Twitter also released an official statement on their establishment. “Marigold is the next step in the evolution of women’s professional wrestling, not just in Japan but all over the world. It reflects the past of women’s professional wrestling and leads the revolution into the future. And it has the role of connecting the culture of women’s professional wrestling to future generations. Follow the heroic figures of the dream warriors shining in the golden garden,” it said.
