The stakes will be especially high for the world title match between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 40; McIntyre says he’ll leave the company if he doesn’t win.
At a panel at WWE World ahead of WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre discussed his match against Seth Rollins on the second night of the show. McIntyre briefly stated that if he failed to win, he should not be in the industry, and he should leave WWE. (H/t Alex McCarthy for the clip)
“If I can’t win against Seth Rollins on Sunday, I quite frankly shouldn’t be in this industry,” McIntyre said. “I’ll leave WWE.”
McIntyre’s WWE contract is set to expire after WrestleMania 40. Recent reports have stated that the two sides have not reached a new deal, though many expect McIntyre to re-sign.
In a previous interview, McIntyre stated that fans would see him wrestle, no matter what happened with his contract.
