WWE SmackDown‘s viewership decreased on March 29.
Wrestlenomics (via SportsMediaWatch) reports that 2.201 million viewers tuned in on Friday. This number is down from last week (2.235 million viewers).
In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown scored a 0.60 rating. This is also down from last week (0.61 rating in the same demographic). Both numbers marked SmackDown’s lowest numbers since the “Bets Of” episode on December 29, 2023.
SmackDown went head to head with NCAA college basketball tournament games across multiple channels on Friday. Wrestlenomics notes that the games on CBS and TBS outranked SmackDown in total viewership and in the 18 to 49 demographic.
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with Pretty Deadly scoring an upset victory over Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. This took place thanks to an assist from Logan Paul.
New Catch Republic and the team of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller won their respective tag matches to earn a shot at the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Titles in a ladder match at WrestleMania.
A confrontation took place between LWO and Legado del Fantasma, which led to a new match being set up at WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio will team with Dragon Lee to take on Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar.
The main event of the show saw Bianca Belair pick up a win over Dakota Kai. Belair was attacked by the rest of Damage CTRL after the match until Naomi and Jade Cargill arrived to even the odds.
