Kenny Omega took to his Twitch live stream to share his thoughts on the controversies in STARDOM surrounding Rossy Ogawa‘s departure.
On the STARDOM product
He began by stating his thoughts on the current product of joshi wrestling that STARDOM presents.
“I think right at this very moment, it’s very strong,” he says. Omega then adds that the talent in STARDOM have been capitalizing on the attention by delivering high quality shows and matchups. “You’re getting some really good match quality but I also think because of the drama surrounding STARDOM, I think you’re getting more eyeballs on the product in general. So I think for the performers in STARDOM to have the chatter surrounding the promotion but then they’re delivering in the ring while people are kind of paying attention to what they’re doing, I think it’s a very good positive for them.”
On talent moving to Ogawa’s new promotion
Rossy Ogawa previously confirmed that he plans on establishing a new promotion. STARDOM talent consequently face a decision of whether to join him or remain with the company that kickstarted their careers. Kenny justified both decisions as valid, regardless of affiliation.
“I think for the people that want to leave that promotion, it’s good for them because they want people to watch their stuff, become fans of them, and move along with them when they leave. But then for the people that are trying to stay within STARDOM and make that the best promotion that they can be and make themselves the best form that they can be, you have a reason to stick around and continue to watch STARDOM as well.”
On the STARDOM talent
Kenny closed by expressing his admiration towards the STARDOM competitors who have continued to stay at the top of their game in spite of the controversies.
“It’s kind of win-win for everybody. And I like seeing the competitive nature. I like seeing the wrestlers perform like they’re hungry. I like to see it as someone who is a wrestler. Love to see it.”
