Paramount and Peacock under one umbrella?
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, it sounds like a possibility.
The Journal reports that the two sides have recently met and discussed linking up through “a partnership or joint venture.” It was noted that this is one of several potential strategic options that Paramount is considering.
Having both streaming apps under the same roof would result in a large cost savings for programming and marketing. In addition, it was noted that a combination of the two apps would also “create a more in-depth offering for consumers, especially with regard to live sports.”
This would not be the first partnership between Comcast and Paramount, as they already have the SkyShowtime streaming service in several European markets.
WWE content currently airs on Peacock; that agreement is set to run through 2026.
