Cody Rhodes tells fans to trust him.
The WWE Universe has been in an uproar over the past several days; on the February 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes announced that he would not be challenging Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Instead, he stepped aside as The Rock confronted Reigns at the end of the show.
The “We want Cody” hashtag trended throughout the weekend, and the fans loudly chanted for Cody at RAW on Monday. Additionally, the live crowd chanted, “Rocky sucks”. Rhodes came to the ring on RAW to respond to Seth Rollins, who made it clear he wanted to face “The American Nightmare” at WrestleMania 40. Before Cody could answer, Drew McIntyre interrupted and encouraged Cody to finish the story.
In a tweet, Cody Rhodes responded to the fans who have voiced their displeasure. He said he appreciated the passion, and he wrote, “God bless y’all.” He then told fans to trust him.
For now, fans will have to wait and see how the road to WrestleMania will unfold for Rhodes.
