Sonya Deville is filming a new movie.
The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion hasn’t been seen since July when she suffered a torn ACL and underwent surgery. While she continues to rehab for an in-ring return, Deville has been busy filming a new movie in Clearwater, Florida.
According to 10 Tampa Bay, Deville will portray a police officer in the mystery film titled DNA Secrets. The film is about an antique store owner who ‘opens a Pandora’s box’ by gifting DNA kits to relatives. Several family members were killed and the store owner realized she could be next on the list. As she gets closer to the truth, she discovers that she is at the center of a situation that has put her entire family in danger.
Deville also spoke to 10 Tampa Bay and compared being an actor for the movie to being a WWE star.
“Obviously, the hustle and bustle, the hurry up and wait, the cameras, the memorization of lines, the having to constantly be ready and on is very similar,” Deville said. “I have to say I do like that in filmmaking, you get more than one take. When you’re on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown, it is live-live and that is it.”
It remains to be seen when Deville will return to action in WWE.
