Cody Rhodes Looks Forward To Integration Period Between WWE And Netflix

Cody Rhodes thinks Netflix and WWE is a great match.

Rhodes spoke with Denise Salcedo at a WWE 2K24 media event about WWE’s new deal with Netflix. RAW will move to the streaming service in 2025, and Rhodes looks forward to the integration period between the two sides.

“I’m very excited. I’ve been on the netflix game since the beginning. Half the shows that I’m obsessed with now have come from Netflix. I have friends that work at Netflix. I’m also very excited for the integration. Whenever pro wrestling and sports entertainment is introduced to new people, new ideas come up,” Rhodes explained.

“Sometimes they’re ridiculous and they don’t understand, but that is a really fun period, the integration,” he added. “You can teach them what we do and we can steal a little bit of what they do. I think it’s going to be a great match.”

Netflix

CEO Ted Sarandos discussed the deal on Netflix’s quarterly earnings call. He told listeners that Netflix was thrilled to bring WWE programming around the world.

“We are thrilled to bring WWE live programming to our members around the world. WWE Raw is sports entertainment, which is right in the sweet spot of our sports business, which is the drama of sport. Think of this as 52 weeks of live programming every week, every year. It feeds our desire to expand our live event programming. Most importantly, fans love it.

“For decades, WWE has grown this multi-generational fanbase that we believe we can serve and we can grow. We believe WWE has been historically under distributed outside of North America, and this is a global deal. We can help them, and they can help us build that fandom around the world. This should also add some fuel to our new and growing ad business.”
