The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship changed hands on WWE SmackDown.
On the January 26 episode of WWE SmackDown, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). The match came after Sane and Asuka confronted the champions the previous week following their match against the Unholy Union.
The two teams battled back and forth in a hard-fought match in the end on Friday. In the end, Sane scored the victory with the Insane Elbow. As a result, the Kabuki Warriors won the gold.
Carter and Chance won the titles by defeating Piper Niven and Chelsea Green on the December 18 episode of WWE RAW. The victory marked the beginning of the Kabuki Warriors’ second reign. They previously held the gold in 2019. Sane later left WWE, but she made her return at WWE Crown Jewel 2023. Asuka is now a four-time champion, as she has also teamed up with Charlotte Flair and Asuka to win the championship.
