It seems that Tama Tonga is wrapping up with New Japan Pro-Wrestling very soon.
Overnight at NJPW New Beginning in Nagoya, Tama Tonga dropped the NEVER Openweight Championship to EVIL in the main event of the show.
This comes weeks after Tonga revealed during the Wrestle Kingdom 18 press conference that he would be departing the company.
After last night’s match, Tonga took a moment to take in the crowd on the stage. He bowed to the audience before walking through the curtain and returning to the backstage area. You can check out that clip in the embedded tweet below.
Despite losing the championship, Tonga is still scheduled to appear for the company between now and the end of the month when his current contract expires.
Before re-signing with New Japan last year, Tonga has confirmed that he had talks with WWE but chose to remain in Japan.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on where Tama Tonga might be headed to next.
