The Love Alive charity will honor Shad Gaspard.
In a tweet, Elijah Burke announced that the Inaugural Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup will be held in conjunction with the Love Alive charity. He stated that the tournament will begin on April 20; eight men will compete for the Beast Award. Burke also highlighted Gaspard’s impact on the business and the people around him. He stated that the tournament was being held with the permission of Gaspard’s widow, Siliana.
Gaspard passed away in 2020; he was swimming with his son when they were caught in a rip current, and he told lifeguards to save his child. His son was saved, but Gaspard lost his life, as he was pulled under by the current.
WWE honored Gaspard by naming him as the recipient of the Warrior Award in 2022.
