The stage is seemingly set for a major rematch between Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr.
Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr. were set to clash at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022, but Danielson was unable to compete due to injury. They finally faced off at AEW WrestleDream 2023, and Danielson scored the win. After the bout, both men expressed their interest in a rematch.
Danielson competed at NJPW New Year Dash 2024, as he teamed up with Jon Moxley, Kazuchika Okada, and Tomohiro Ishii to face Sabre Jr., Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls, and Kosei Fujita. Haste scored the win for his time.
Sabre Jr. proceeded to challenge Danielson to a rematch. He vowed to tap Danielson out, as he wanted to prove who was the best technical wrestler of all time. The former NJPW World TV Champion told Danielson to return to Japan, and Danielson seemingly accepted the challenge. He said there was no way Sabre Jr. would tap him out. Instead, he stated that he would be coming to make the TMDK member submit.
