Bryan Danielson has some names in mind.
Prior to his anticipated rematch against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Bryan Danielson spoke to Tokyo Sports and named a few New Japan Pro-Wrestling stars that he thinks would be good fits for crossing over into AEW.
“Shingo [Takagi], of course, but also Hiromu [Takahashi] and [El] Desperado will fit AEW’s very fast style of matches, and I think they can do a great job if they come,” Danielson said. “Of course, Okada also has the ability and popularity to quickly reach the top level in AEW. No doubt about it, he’s very smart and has unbelievable skill in the ring.”
Shingo Takagi lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Tama Tonga at Wrestle Kingdom 17, while Desperado managed to beat Takahashi to capture his third IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Okada was successful in defeating Danielson inside the Tokyo Dome on Thursday after already having three AEW matches under his belt. “The Rainmaker” previously competed at Forbidden Door 2022 and 2023, plus teamed with Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite this past October.
