One of the most popular factions in WWE was Hit Row. Unfortunately, the faction fell apart. One of the stars in the group was AJ Francis, he wrestled under the name Top Dolla in the Stamford-based promotion.
During an interview with Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, AJ Francis reflected on his journey to WWE. The former Top Dolla mentioned that even during his time in the NFL he wanted to be a WWE Superstar.
“WWE has always been my passion. When I was in the NFL, I wanted to be in WWE. Now that sounds ridiculous to a lot of people but it’s the truth. It’s always been a passion of mine, it’s always something I wanted to do. But it’s one of those things like sometimes you fly too close to the sun. Did I enjoy my time in WWE? Yeah. did I appreciate all the friends and relationships I built while I was there? Yeah. But, they didn’t want me. They proved it twice so I’m not the kind of guy that’s going to keep going back to my ex-girlfriend telling her how much I miss her. If you don’t need me, then that’s cool. I hope it works out for you ’cause I’m going to be all right,” said AJ Francis. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
AJ Francis once pitched an idea to add Odyssey Jones in Hit Row as the Muscle of the Group
Recently Francis was also interviewed by Muscle Man Malcolm. During the interview, he shared that he once pitched an idea to recruit absent WWE star Odyssey Jones into the Hit Row faction.
“And I even talked about adding Omari, Odyssey Jones to Hit Row, as like muscle. You know what I’m saying? I’m already muscle but like… Like Suge Knight. I look like Suge Knight. Suge Knight rolled around with 20 Mexican Bloods. That’s a real thing he would do. Yeah, he could whoop people’s ass but he would have hitters with him. So that’s not a crazy thing. We talked about adding him too,” Top Dolla said.
