Matt Hardy weighs in on AEW’s Devil situation.
The Devil’s Masked Men shocked the world by defeating MJF for the ROH World Tag Team Championship on the December 27 AEW Dynamite.
While we wait to see what unfolds, one AEW star in Matt Hardy has offered his thoughts on who he thinks The Devil’s Masked Men were this week. (H/t Skylar Russell of Fightful for the transcription.)
“That’s how I read it, apparently people thought Joe is the devil, is that why Tony cleared that up on the media call? He clarified that on the media call, correct? So I don’t know, it’s going to be interesting,” Hardy said on a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy. “I wonder who the two masked men were that actually won the tag titles from MJF, the Ring of Honor World Tag Team titles. I’m curious on who that’s going to be.
“For some reason, I have a sneaking suspicion it could be The Kingdom, but who knows? I don’t know anything, I don’t know any more than you and I haven’t even tried to press to know more. I’m very curious on what the ultimate payoff and the big reveal is going to be this Saturday at Worlds End.”
It’s worth noting that The Kingdom’s Mike Bennett and Matt Taven, alongside Roderick Strong, have recently accused MJF of being The Devil despite MJF getting attacked.
