Talks between Mercedes Moné and WWE have reportedly broken down.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per WWE sources, the two sides are no longer negotiating a potential return for Moné. Sapp writes that Moné and WWE had recently been in talks, and the dialogue was friendly. However, the discussion failed to progress, and WWE sources claimed the company “walked”. Another WWE source expressed their belief that Moné would end up elsewhere.
Previously, Sapp reported that there was a plan for Moné to work with AEW, but those plans were no longer active as of early December. Sapp also wrote that NJPW has hoped to talk with Moné, and that all options were back on the table for Moné.
Sapp has also reported that Moné’s asking price was believed to be above Charlotte Flair’s new WWE deal. More information is available here.
