Adam Copeland shares his thoughts on Christian Cage‘s run with the TNT Championship.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Adam Copeland discussed Cage’s title reign and highlighted how he appreciates the way Cage has elevated the championship.
“It’s the title that’s the most important thing in the world to Christian,” Adam Copeland said. “When the title is involved, that should always be the lynchpin of a story. It should hold enough significance to break up a friendship.
“That has been lost in a lot of cases over the years, but I appreciate how he’s made the title important. His goal was to make it bigger than AEW world title. At this point, I believe he’s done it.”
Adam Copeland Previews Match Against Christian Cage
Adam Copeland will challenge Christian Cage, his former tag team partner and long-time friend, for the TNT Championship on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. Copeland and Christian have a friendship that spans decades, as they have been through everything together, including the death of Adam’s mother, Judy Lynn Copeland. He noted that she would have been thrilled to see the two of them sharing the ring after they were previously forced to retire.
“My mom would be over the moon,” Copeland said. “It’s still hard to believe this is happening, isn’t it? Both of us retired. Both of us are back. We’re doing it at a level we’re both proud of.
“We couldn’t fake this chemistry. It’s there. And we get to do this in Montreal.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on Wednesday.
