Trick Williams looks ahead toward a potential call-up to WWE’s main roster.
This Saturday, Trick Williams will compete in the second annual WWE NXT Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, where the winner will secure themselves a future shot at the NXT Championship. Beyond that though, Williams, like many of his NXT colleagues, is also aiming to propel himself to WWE’s main roster someday. During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Williams discussed some of the goals he’d like to accomplish upon his potential future call-up to the main roster.
“I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m gonna go straight to the top,” Williams said. “Long term, my goal is, I want to face off with Roman Reigns. That’s my long-term goal — he’s the best to do it right now, so if you’re not in it to face him, then I don’t really know what you’re doing. Sooner than that, who I’m very excited about working with is GUNTHER. I love the way he carries himself. He really is a ring general and I would love to see us battle, go to war. I’ve told him that too, I’m really looking forward to that day.
“There’s so many guys who are just great, but for now, I’m enjoying my time in NXT,” Williams added. “I have a lot to do here still. I got this Iron Survivor Challenge, [NXT] Deadline, then after that, god-willing, I’ll be facing off with Ilja Dragunov [for the NXT Championship].”
Before Williams lands a possible title match against Dragunov, he’ll have to beat four other men in the 2023 Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline on December 9.
