Randy Oton is now a member of the WWE SmackDown roster, but he tied up some loose ends before he joined the blue brand.
Randy Orton returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series. He then appeared on the November 27 episode of WWE RAW, where he told Jey Uso that he didn’t have a problem with him as long as Jey stayed out of his way. Orton also settled some business with The Judgment Day, as he defeated Dominik Mysterio.
The Judgment Day technically brought Orton back to TV, as Cody Rhodes called on him to face the faction in the Men’s WarGames match. Orton subsequently joined WWE SmackDown on the December 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that WWE had Orton appear on RAW to capitalize on the buzz of his return, and the company wanted him to wrap up the aforementioned stories, as Jey is firmly positioned as a face on WWE RAW.
Update On Randy Orton’s Future On SmackDown
Sapp also writes that, even beyond the obvious signs, it’s fairly clear that Orton’s path will lead him right to The Bloodline. The report notes that Michael Hayes produced Orton’s segment’s last week. Hayes typically produces Roman Reigns’ segments and all things directly tied to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Per Sapp, WWE has been happy with Orton’s return, as well as his performance and his conditioning so far.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
