Former WWE NXT World Champion and one-half of the current Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions Adam Cole has been sidelined due to an ankle injury. He suffered the injury during an attempt to help his friend and tag team partner MJF. Cole recently shared his appreciation for his fans following their immense support during some of his toughest times.
The former leader of The Undisputed Era while injured is still making frequent appearances on live television. Although, Cole is unable to wrestle he has showed up week after week to show support for his best friend and tag team partner Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
Cole took to Twitter to share a heartfelt message to his fans.
“As I sit here injured, I feel grateful. And that is thanks to so many of you ? I can’t explain how much it means to have this type of support when going through something like this. Support is everything. You all have made this tough journey a little bit easier. Thank you ♥️,” Adam Cole tweeted.
It is to be noted that Cole has been prone to injury since showing up on All Elite Wrestling television. Last year at the inaugural AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view Cole suffered a serious concussion that almost put an end to his in-ring career. He managed to recover and after returning, challenged MJF for the AEW World title, after failing to capture that, he and Friedman built a friendship and went on to become ROH World Tag Team Champions.
Earlier this month at the AEW Full Gear, Cole almost made a return to in-ring action. When he attempted to step into the ring on behalf of MJF. But he only had one fully functioning leg. Luckily Friedman returned and wrestled.
Will Cole be back at World’s End?
