Dante Martin is ready to fly again.
Martin, one-half of Top Flight, has been sidelined since suffering a serious leg injury at ROH Supercard of Honor in March.
Martin competed in the “Reach for the Sky” Ladder Match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. The bout included the Lucha Brothers, The Kingdom, Aussie Open, Top Flight, and La Faccion Ingobernable. In the closing minutes of the bout, Penta El Zero Miedo hit a destroyer on Dante Martin through a table. The Top Flight member landed awkwardly on his ankle. Martin was taken out of the bout as he was stretchered to the back.
Martin was released from the hospital the following day, but he had not been seen on AEW/ROH programming since.
Ready to fly
On Friday, Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Martin had been backstage at a recent AEW show and is nearing a return from injury. It was also recently noted by Ian Riccaboni that Martin’s recovery was ahead of schedule.
Dante’s brother, Darius Martin, has been active during his brother’s absence. He has been featured on ROH programming as a team with Action Andretti.
Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision saw Andretti and Darius talking about their run together this year. Andretti noted how AEW would be in Martin’s hometown this week, but something was missing. Darius welcomed Dante, and they bumped fists and said they were ready to take flight again.
