Ric Flair says MJF is a really talented individual.
As for him being a modern “Nature Boy”? Flair says the current AEW World Heavyweight Champion shouldn’t strive to be too much like him in one regard.
WrestleZone spoke with Flair about Paul Wight’s recent comparison between MJF and Flair. Wight said there’s only Ric Flair, but called MJF a modern-day version of the wrestling legend.
Flair was asked about Wight’s comparison between the two (and the potential for working with MJF in AEW). Flair said he loves MJF, but noted how the two might have a few differences.
“I think he’s awesome. Looking forward to the day we can have a one-on-one. I actually hope that nobody ever is me. They don’t want to be where I’ve been and what I’ve done. But he is really a talented kid. I mean talented as hell,” Flair said.
“I’ve never heard a nighttime story about him yet,” Ric Flair added. “Half of my life is nighttime stories [laughs]. It’s not what happened in the ring, it’s what happens afterward.”
Flair got a chance to meet MJF at this week’s Dynamite taping and had a glowing review of his meeting with the AEW World Champion.
“I Met @The_MJF Last Night. OMG! He Has THE GIFT! I’m Honored To Have Met You. Looking Forward To Working With You & Our Relationship Going Forward. You’ve Got A Gift That So Few Have! You’re Special! WOOOOO!” Ric Flair tweeted.
