WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts made a name for himself by not just putting out high-quality matches, but also for carrying a large snake along with him. It is safe to say that he was one of the strangest wrestlers back in the day.
Often, he would throw his snake into the ring to scare away his opponents. Recently, the AEW star was interviewed by Steve Fall of Wrestling News.co. During the interview, Jake Roberts shared a couple of the strangest places he had wrestled in.
Once, he was competing on top of a department store in Tokyo.
“On top of a department store in Tokyo… We were about 25 floors up. So, it was pretty odd. And to make it even crazier, there were only like 12 people there, for a whole wrestling show. And then at the end of it, I found out that the owner of the building had requested a show for himself and family. And he paid for it. So they did it. I damn sure did.
He also shared that he also fought inside a cock-fighting compound.
“Well I got one more. It was in a cock fighting compound. Literally, whenever you came up on this place it was out in the sticks. Down in the holler. And when you come up on it there was a large crow’s nest with automatic weapons in them. Yeah… It was well guarded… Well guarded… No I don’t (remember whom I wrestled),” Jake Roberts said.
Currently, the WWE Hall of Famer is signed to AEW. He is the manager of Lance Archer.
