Ric Flair is All Elite.
All Elite Wrestling announced that Ric Flair has signed a multi-year deal. The announcement did not specify what Flair’s on-air role will be.
Flair made his AEW debut during last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia, appearing as Khan’s “special gift” for Sting. Flair said he hoped to be with Sting through his retirement tour, which is set to finish up at AEW Revolution in March. Now, Flair appears to be sticking with AEW past Sting’s tenure.
The agreement includes Flair’s Wooooo! Energy being named as the exclusive energy drink of AEW. According to a press release, “AEW show dates and select host venues” will carry Wooooo! Energy at concession stands. It will also be stocked in the wrestlers’ locker rooms and on the announcers’ desk during live broadcasts.
“Last Wednesday, the ‘Nature Boy’ made his epic return to TBS, more than 35 years since the Flair vs. Sting rivalry first began on the Superstation,” said AEW’s Tony Khan. “It’s truly an honor to welcome the legend himself – and Wooooo! Energy – to AEW. Ric cemented his legacy as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all-time long ago, and now his world-renowned persona and his amazing wrestling mind will be major assets to AEW’s programming and our position globally. Most importantly, it’s fitting that the final chapter of Sting’s iconic career will unfold on TBS with Ric Flair by his side.”
