Alex Hammerstone confirms that he asked for his release from Major League Wrestling.
On October 28, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Alex Hammerstone requested his release from MLW, as the relationship between the two sides has become frayed. Sapp wrote that, at the time of writing, MLW did grant the request.
The next day, Hammerstone took to Twitter and stated that his time in MLW was five of the best years of his life and career. He noted that he was proud of what he and the company accomplished. Hammerstone also confirmed that he requested his release, as he wrote that he feels it’s what’s right for him at this time. He then thanked Court Bauer for the opportunities.
Hammerstone has been with MLW since 2019. He was featured as a member of The Dynasty alongside MJF and Richard Holliday. Hammerstone had a lengthy reign as the MLW National Openweight Champion. He won the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at MLW Fightland 2021 and held it for over 600 days. Alex Kane dethroned him at MLW Never Say Never on July 8, 2023.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
