Shotzi is excited for her dream gig at Halloween Havoc.
NXT Halloween Havoc is here again, and Shotzi will once again serve as host of the event. This will be Shotzi’s third time hosting the annual event. Five women’s matches are on the card for night one, and she spoke with Steve Fall for WrestlingNews.co about how great it is to see more women’s matches this time around.
“I am loving that we’re seeing so many women come in today. They’re doing — not just regular matches, we’ve got Devil’s Playground matches, Lights Out matches. This is a dream come true. I am super excited, I will be definitely watching as a fan,” she said. “My girl Roxanne is in there, Gigi Dolin is getting down tonight, so I am super excited.”
Unpleasant dreams…
Shotzi said she’s not sure how Halloween Havoc came back, but it’s something she joked about ever since she signed with WWE.
“I was like, ‘Man, I wish we could bring back Halloween Havoc.’ Because we started doing that, we were taking old pay-per-views and bringing them back,” she pointed out. “So I was [thinking] when is Halloween Havoc coming back? And then I got a phone call saying [the event was returning], ‘we want you to be the host.’ And I just died.
“I was like, this is my dream come true. I’m dressed up like Elvira right now and she’s ‘my gal.’ She was the first woman that was like the role model for Halloween Havoc,” Shotzi added. “So, I’m stepping in her shoes and she’s my favorite person ever. I’m really excited.”
Last year, Shotzi told WWE’s The Bump that she hoped to break Elvira’s mark.
Elvira appeared at three different Halloween Havoc events under the WCW banner in 1989, 1990 and 1991. With her hosting gig this year, Shotzi will tie the Mistress of the Dark’s record.
