Muhammad Ali’s “Rumble in the Jungle” helped inspire Alex Kane and the Bomaye Fight Club.
MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane was a recent guest on MuscleManMalcolm. When asked about Don King being featured on Major League Wrestling programming as the financial backer of the Bomaye Fight Club, Kane noted that King was part of the original Bomaye with Muhammad Ali. Hence, they wanted to get him involved.
“So Don King was a part of the original creation of Bomaye with the legendary Muhammad Ali in the Rumble in the Jungle,” Alex Kane said. “So if I’m gonna be the head of the Bomaye Fight Club, why not go get the man who started the original Bomaye movement with a Rumble in the Jungle? That’s how it was. Only in America.”
When asked if he’s a big boxing fan, Kane admitted that he isn’t, but he enjoys the characters in the sport.
“I’m not a big boxing fan, but I do like the characters within boxing,” Alex Kane said. “Boxing is real real. It’s a super shoot, but there’s characters in everything. I like Floyd Mayweather; I like Mike Tyson. I like Connor McGregor a little bit, even though he likes to crap on the professional wrestling side of things. But it is what it is. I like the characters from within boxing.”
