Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso won gold at WWE Fastlane.
The latest WWE premium live event kicked off with The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest defending their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against the unlikely pairing of Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes.
After several minutes of staying evenly matched, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio ran down to get involved. Ripley tried distracting Uso and even hit him with the Money in the Bank briefcase at one point, but it wasn’t enough.
JD McDonagh also tried to interfere at ringside, but it backfired when he accidentally hit Priest’s injured knee with the briefcase after Rhodes ducked. Back in the ring, Uso and Rhodes hit an assisted Cody Cutter on Balor before Cross Rhodes connected to secure the three-count.
Balor and Priest’s title reign now ends at approximately 36 days. This is the first tag team title reign together for Rhodes and Uso. Individually, it is the ninth for Uso and the seventh for Rhodes in WWE.
