AEW Dynamite viewership decreased on September 27.
According to Wrestlenomics, 855,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.28 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is down from last week’s episode when 984,000 viewers tuned in. The demo is also down from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.36 rating in the same demographic.
With the drop in viewership, AEW Dynamite placed number two on cable last night only behind the US Open that went head-to-head with the show.
What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?
This week’s show kicked off with Rey Fenix defeating Jeff Jarrett to retain the AEW International Championship.
It was also announced that Adam Cole has suffered a serious ankle injury that will require surgery. Following that announcement, MJF was confronted by Bullet Club Gold leader Jay White.
Elsewhere on the show, Nick Jackson defeated Brian Cage and Claudio Castagnoli to earn a shot at the AEW International Championship next week on Dynamite. Julia Hart also defeated Willow Nightingale in preparation for her TBS Title match at WrestleDream against Kris Statlander.
In the closing segment of the show, Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland had a contract signing for their match at WrestleDream. Backstage Jay White was attacked by four men and a fifth wearing the MJF devil mask.
