Major League Wrestling (MLW), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) have formed a strategic alliance.
On September 27, MLW, NJPW, and CMLL announced that they formed a strategic alliance. The three companies will unite for a variety of crossover collaborations, beginning this October. The announcement noted that the alliance will allow all three companies to showcase their signature fighting styles and athletes.

“Major League Wrestling (“MLW”), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (“CMLL”) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (“NJPW”) today announced the formation of a landmark strategic alliance.
The three world class organizations will unite for a variety of crossover collaborations, commencing this October. The strategic alliance creates the ultimate stage for each organization to showcase their signature fighting styles and athletes.
“It’s a privilege and honor to forge an alliance with CMLL and work with Mr. Salvador Lutteroth Lomeli and his team while expanding MLW’s relationship with New Japan to create an extraordinary collaboration,” said MLW CEO and Founder Court Bauer. “I wish to thank Mr. Salvador Lutteroth Lomeli, Mr. Naoki Sugabayashi, Mr. Takami Ohbari and Rocky Romero for building the foundation for this opportunity. CMLL has a rich history, as the promotion recently celebrated its 90th anniversary. The company was founded in 1933. NJPW and CMLL previously formed an alliance in 2009, and they have collaborated ever since.
More Details On MLW’s Strategic Alliance With NJPW And CMLL
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported more information about MLW’s strategic alliance with NJPW and CMLL. He stated that the discussions started in early July. The report noted that MLW “adjusted its roster” to align with CMLL, so the company will not use any AAA talent.
Sapp cited sources who noted that there will be a steady flow of talent between the companies. MLW aims to have plenty of CMLL talent come over, and the NJPW crossover is set to expand in the new year.
