All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the September 22 episode of AEW Rampage.
Tonight, it’s AEW Rampage: Grand Slam, a special two-hour episode of Rampage. Included in tonight’s festivities are a number one contender’s match to determine who will challenge MJF and Adam Cole for the ROH World Tag Team Championship at AEW WrestleDream on October 1. Those four teams include The Kingdom, The Hardys, The Righteous, and Best Friends.
Additionally, Skye Blue is set to take on Julia Hart, while Mike Santana will be in singles action for the first time in over a year. The night will be headlined by Hangman Page and The Young Bucks challenging Gates of Agony for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
The results are as follows:
Match 1: Sting and Darby Allin defeat Christian Cage & Luchasaurus via pinfall
In the opening match to tonight’s special episode of Rampage, Sting and Darby Allin walked out with a win relatively quickly. After Luchasaurus dominated the match to start, things kind of fell apart once Cage got involved. After missing a big splash, Sting tagged in late and he and Allin began flipping the momentum.
Things began to come to a close after Sting and Allin hit a combination Scorpion Death Drop and Coffin Drop on Luchasaurus. Cage attempted to hit Allin with his finisher, but Nick Wayne was standing on the ring apron, distracting him for a moment. This allowed Allin to quickly roll up Cage instead, and get the pin and win. After the match, an angry Cage stared down Wayne as he helped up Luchasaurus.
Match 2: HOOK, Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander defeat Anna Jay, Daddy Magic, & Angelo Parker via pinfall
In another relatively quick match, things were pretty back and forth to start, but eventually Jay, Magic and Parker began getting the upper hand. However, late in the match, Cassidy hit the Orange Punch on Hager, and then all of Cassidy, HOOK, and Statlander hit a simultaneous suplex on their three opponents for a near fall.
Afterward, HOOK was able to lock the Redrum onto Magic, Statlander hit Jay with a big move, and Cassidy won the match by punching Parker again for the win.

The newest episode of QTV covered QT Marshall and his title defense in Mexico. Marshall then said he reached out to Johnny TV looking for a tag team partner for next week, and Johnny and Aaron Solo couldn’t agree which of the two QT wanted.
In-ring segment: Don Callis and Sammy Guevara
In the ring, Callis and Konosuke Takeshita were joined by Tony Schiavone for an interview. Before things got started, Callis introduced Sammy Guevara as the newest member of the Don Callis family. Guevara came out wearing some new clothes and hugged Don in the ring, as the crowd booed the interaction.
Taking to the microphone, Guevara began bragging about his fat paycheck and hot wife, and then said that he’s done chasing the love and adoration of fans. As for Chris Jericho, Guevara said he’s done with him, and hopes to never see him again. Of course, this was followed promptly by Jericho running down to the ring, and even got some hits in on Guevara and Takeshita before looking to attack Callis.
However, Takeshita hit Jericho with a chair in the back, and Guevara then took it and began hitting his former friend in the back with it. With the three men attacking Jericho, things got even more chaotic as Kenny Omega’s music hit and the superstar came running out with a steel pipe. He chased away the three superstars, and then bumped into Jericho before staring him down.
Backstage segment: Kenny Omega
In a brief backstage segment, Omega said he didn’t do what he did because of any love for Jericho. Chris eventually stumbled onto the interview, and the two very quickly established they didn’t have any love for one another.
However, Jericho did say Guevara was a true Judas, and that both he and Omega want to take down Callis. To do that, Jericho proposed a tag team match at WrestleDream, where he and Omega will team up with Kota Ibushi to take on Takeshita, Guevara, and someone else.
Match 3: The Righteous defeated Best Friends, The Hardys, and The Kingdom in a Number One Contender’s match for the ROH World Tag Team Championships
The Righteous managed to capitalize on the moment in a perfect way to score a big victory. In a match that also featured The Hardys, The Kingdom, and Best Friends, things were hectic from the very start. However, late in the match, Vincent was able to steal a win in creative fashion. Jeff Hardy quickly climbed to the top of the rope and hit a big Swanton Bomb on Chuck Taylor. But Vincent tagged himself in and immediately followed it with a Swanton of his own. He then pinned Taylor for the win.
After the match, The Kingdom attacked the Best Friends with chairs.
AEW World Trios Championship: The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) & “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn (c) defeated Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver)
The two trios battled it out in a hard-fought match. Dark Order came close to scoring the win on a number of occasions. Evil Uno nearly stole the victory when he hit Caster with one of the title belts. The champions rallied and hit a double-team move on Reynolds for the win.
Julia Hart defeated Skye Blue
Blue put up a fight early on, but Hart dominated the match. She grounded Blue and controlled the action. Blue rallied, but Hart ultimately made her tap out. Hart attacked Blue after the bell, and Willow Nightingale made the save.
Backstage, Bullet Club Gold mocked Andrade El Idolo. Jay White recalls meeting Andrade years ago. He hypes up their match and vowed to end his time in the spotlight.
Mike Santana defeated “Dirty Bulk” Bronson
Santana controlled the match and kept up the attack as he didn’t let Bronson rally. After the bell, Ortiz came to the stage and stared Santana down.
“Hangman” Adam Page & The Young Bucks defeated Mogul Embassy (Brian Cage, Kaun & Toa Liona) to win the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship
Hangman and the Bucks took an early advantage as the Bucks dove to the outside, and Page hit a Shooting Star Press. They were in control until Swerve Strickland came out and distracted them. Mogul Embassy took control and maintained the upper hand. Page and the Bucks battled back, but Strickland interfered again. Page took out Kaun and Liona, and he ultimately rolled Cage up for the win, despite a distraction from Swerve.
