MJF makes a bold claim about the AEW World Championship.
Speaking with PIX11 News, MJF hyped up AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. He noted that he was vibing with the anchor, so he asked whether she wanted to hold the title.
“I wanted to ask you. I normally don’t do this, but we’re really getting on,” MJF said. “Would you like to hold the AEW World Title? I’m just gonna warn you, it’s heavy.”
The anchor brought up the Stanley Cup, as she wondered whether she should touch the title. MJF had a brief response and it made it clear that he believes his title is more prestigious.
“Listen, this might as well be called the Maxi Cup. It is much more prestigious than the Stanley one. Just be very careful. It’s heavy, it’s no joke. I believe that right there is 15 pounds.”
The Stanley Cup is the trophy that is awarded to the winner of the NHL playoffs every year. Its origin dates back to 1893.
MJF Vows To Choke Out Samoa Joe
MJF also previewed his match against Samoa Joe and encouraged fans to boo the challenger on Wednesday night.
“I’m gonna be in the main event, against that fat tub of goo, Samoa Joe, and I’m gonna choke him out,” he said. “[He’s a] horrible guy. We don’t like him. [Anchor boos] Exactly, yeah, boo. Please, when you come to the show tonight. Boo Samoa Joe.”
