Nigel McGuinness is a massive fan of Toni Storm and hopes she gets more chances to shine.
Toni Storm recently revamped her character in AEW and is now portraying a distressed starlet from Hollywood’s golden age. Speaking with Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo, Nigel McGuinness praised the change in direction for the former AEW Women’s World Champion.
“Actually, I’ve always been a huge fan of Toni Storm,” McGuinness stated. “But pro wrestling has always been a situation where sometimes you need to reinvent yourself. That seems to be the case with Toni at the moment.”
Storm is dealing with some “emotional issues” over losing her title. But McGuinness said she’s found something great with her character.
“She’s found something hasn’t she? She calls herself ‘Illustrious’ and certainly she has that history but the way she carries herself,” he added. “There’s there’s an air of Audrey Hepburn, there’s the fire of Elizabeth Taylor, there’s a bit of everything and I love to see it. I can’t wait till she really gets a wind in her sails and she’s got the opportunity to go out there and have some big matches.”
