Scott Steiner comments on the legacy of the “Steiner Math” promo.
Steiner has had a legendary career, as he has been featured in WCW, WWE, and TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. However, to this day, many fans still associate him with his classic “Steiner Math” promo.
In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Steiner shared his thoughts on the way the promo has stuck around so long.
“I’m surprised it’s lasted this long, you know? People love it,” Scott Steiner said. “Because that was just one of a long list of interviews that I did. I was just trying to be different, you know, and I was actually trying to entertain myself. And then when I got done, one take, you know, people liked it then and they still do now, to this day you.”
When asked whether he was thinking about the promo in the moment or just rolling with it, Steiner noted that he was doing it live.
“No, I was just doing it,” Scott Steiner said. “You can see the reaction by Petey Williams, he was a little thrown off by it. But no, it came out good.”
Scott Steiner Remembers Pieces Of The Steiner Math Promo
Steiner was then asked whether he still remembers the full promo. He admitted that he remembers pieces of it, as he only cut it one time. The legend noted that he has done the promo many times since for Cameos.
“No, I just remember pieces of it,” Scott Steiner said. “I mean, like I said I did it one time, and that was the only time I did it. But I mean, I’ve done it over and over…like on Cameo and stuff. But yeah…. always got to come up with something different.”
