Tony Khan: Cash Wheeler’s Arrest Is An Inconclusive Situation, AEW Is Monitoring It

Tony Khan comments on Cash Wheeler‘s arrest.

On August 18, Cash Wheeler was arrested and charged on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. At his arraignment hearing, it was stated that he allegedly flashed a gun at the alleged victim. Despite the incident, Wheeler is expected to compete at AEW All In on August 27.

During the pre-AEW All In media call, Tony Khan was asked about Wheeler’s arrest and whether he felt like the bout between FTR and the Young Bucks was ever in jeopardy.

“As for things that have happened outside of the ring, I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything. I’m still learning facts. But based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation. At this time, I think it’s a very inconclusive situation.

“It differs from other times, where we’ve come in and weighed in on a situation or acted in a situation based on the evidence because in this case and everything we’re looking at, I don’t think we have those facts right now. So at this point, I think it’s rather inconclusive. But I do very much look forward to the match. We’ll keep an eye out throughout this weekend as long as it’s a pending situation, at what’s happening.”

When Did He Find Out About Cash Wheeler’s Arrest?

Tony Khan was also asked to comment on when he found out about the arrest.

“Because of the nature of it, I’ll be honest. It’s not like I’ve known for a long time what was going on here. But on the other hand, I have tried to gather all the facts and information. I still think we don’t have all the facts here,” Tony Khan said. “I don’t want to comment too much on the situation. But we’re still gathering information, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do for several days.”

Khan later noted that he would monitor the situation, but he did not anticipate making a change to the scheduled match.

As of this writing, Wheeler is still set to compete at AEW All In. There, he and Dax Harwood will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks.
