Kairi Sane (KAIRI) is reportedly set to make her return to WWE later this year and Dave Meltzer explained some of the reasons why the decision was made in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
For starters, it is being reported that KAIRI wanted to wrestle more often with STARDOM. However, Bushiroad, the parent company of STARDOM, wanted Sane to sign an exclusive deal in return for booking her for more dates. This would naturally mean KAIRI would want to earn more money for being an exclusive wrestler.
KAIRI then opened the door to potentially return to WWE despite maintaining a very close relationship with Rossy Ogawa, current executive producer of STARDOM. Dave Meltzer said, “She talked with those close to her who supported her leaving with the idea that if she doesn’t, she later in life would always have questions or regrets about it.”
With the recent success that Asuka and IYO SKY have seen in WWE, KAIRI was said to be confident that she would be used better under the creative direction of Triple H, who is currently serving as the head of creative for WWE. Kairi Sane won the NXT Championship in 2018 when Triple H was in charge of the brand.
Kairi Sane committed to finishing out various dates for STARDOM and will finish up in September, saying that she will be preparing for a new adventure.
