Logan Paul kicked of WWE SummerSlam by defeating Ricochet in a hard-fought match.
Paul and Ricochet have been feuding in recent weeks, and they made it clear that they intended to have a viral match at “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”
Ricochet took the fight to Paul early on, as he slapped him and showcased his athleticism. Paul took control as he dropped Ricochet with a neckbreaker and drilled him with some body shots. “The Maverick” also talked some trash to Ricochet’s fiancée, ring announcer Samantha Irvin. Paul grounded Ricochet and maintained the advantage. The social media megastar also did some Hulk Hogan-like poses.
Ricochet rallied. but Paul sent him flying with a back body drop. Paul countered a Spanish Fly off the apron, but Ricochet hit one on the floor.
Paul dove onto Ricochet and dropped him with a clothesline. Paul got a two-count with a diving crossbody and a standing moonsault. Ricochet gained momentum with an avalanche neckbreaker and a flurry offense. Ricochet caught a diving Paul, who then dropped him with a DDT. Paul countered a Shooting Star Press and got a two-count with a pin attempt. A springboard Frog Splash earned Paul another two-count.
Ricochet took charge again with a flurry of offense, capped off by a springboard moonsault. Paul dodged a 630 Splash. Someone gave Paul a pair of brass knuckles, and he hit Ricochet. Paul pinned Ricochet for the win.
