AEW Rampage Results (7/14/23): Willow Nightingale vs. Athena

All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the July 14 episode of AEW Rampage.

Willow Nightingale faced Athena in the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. Plus, Lance Archer clashed Trent Beretta, and Naturally Limitless (Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes) took on Matt Menard and Angelo Parker.

The results are as follows:

Naturally Limitless (Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes) vs. Matt Menard and Angelo Parker

Lee and Parker begin the match, and Lee easily overpowers him. Menard tags in and gets slammed. Lee slams Parker and slams Rhodes onto both men. Menard and Parker gain the upper hand and isolate Rhodes. Lee tags in and rallies. He accidentally knocks Rhodes off the apron. Lee gets hit with a double DDT for a two-count. Rhodes and Lee fire up, and Lee gets the win with the Big Bang Catastrophe.

Winners: Naturally Limitless (Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes)

The QTV team regroups after the dissension with Powerhouse Hobbs. QT Marshal hypes up the success of “Rap Class.” The video cuts to a clip of Johnny TV getting out of a pool, and he says they’ve been training for a match with The Acclaimed.

Taya Valkyrie vs. Izzy McQueen

Taya dominates McQueen in less than a minute and gets the win with a stomp. AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and Saraya come out. Storm says Valkyrie is a loser because she is Canadian. Valkyrie notes that they have never wrestled, and Storm says they’ve never had the opportunity. Valkyrie challenges her to a title match at AEW Battle of the Belts VII. Storm accepts the challenge and vows to embarrass Valkyrie in front of her countrymen.

In a brief promo, HOOK challenges Jack Perry to a match on AEW Dynamite.

Lance Archer (with Jake Roberts) vs. Trent Beretta (with Chuck Taylor)

Archer takes the fight to Beretta and controls the action. Beretta dumps Archer to the outside and dropkicks him. Roberts gets involved and clotheslines Trent. Archer takes control and slams Trent into the ring post. Back in the ring, Trent tries to rally, but Archer overwhelms him. Trent fires up with a flurry of offense and gets a two-count with a piledriver. Archer gains the upper hand again, but Trent rolls him up for a two-count. Trent hits a knee strike, but Archer fires back with a stiff blow. He hits the Blackout and a lariat for the win.

Winner: Lance Archer

Archer attacks Taylor after the match. He calls out AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy and challenges him to a match at AEW Battle of the Belts VII. Cassidy comes out as soon as Archer threatens Taylor and Beretta. Archer grabs Cassidy, and Roberts tells him to wait for AEW Battle of the Belts. Roberts takes the backpack with Cassidy’s title.

Backstage, Sonjay Dutt says the Tag Team Eliminator Tournament was a bad idea, while Ethan Page vows to show the group that actions have consequences. Both sides hype up the Royal Rampage battle royale.

Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis) vs. Mentallo

Before the match, Callis notes that Mentallo is a childhood friend of Kenny Omega, and he was Omega’s first training partner. He says Omega has a weakness to be surrounded by his idiot friends. Takeshita takes the fight to Mentallo, who briefly rallies. A stiff big boot rocks Mentallo. The masked man tries to rally, but Takeshita levels him with a lariat. Mentallo takes control, but Takeshita gains the upper hand and hits a delayed vertical suplex off the ropes. Takeshita hits a modified piledriver and a diving senton for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

Backstage, Dark Order (John Silver, Evil Uno, and John Silver) comment in their actions. Silver says Hangman Page abandoned them. Reynolds says their win over The Elite was the resurrection of the Dark Order. Uno says they’re not wasting time on fake friends anymore.

Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semifinal: Athena vs. Willow Nightingale

Athena takes control early on. Willow rallies, and Athena leaves the ring. Athena lures Willow in and targets her leg. The veteran grounds Willow, but the fan-favorite rallies. Athena takes out Willow’s leg and continues to target it. She wrenches Willow’s leg in a modified ankle lock. Willow levels Athena with a pounce and gets a two-count with a spinebuster. Athena dumps Willow with a suplex and gets a two count with a stiff elbow. The two competitors trade blows. Athena locks Athena in a crossface. Willow slams her with a Death Valley Driver. Athena hits a chop block. Willow rolls her up for the win.

Winner: Willow Nightingale
