Tony D’Angelo is a free man.
During the July 11 episode of WWE NXT, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo battled Joe Coffey in a match with major implications for Tony D’Angelo. If Stacks won, D’Angelo would be free from jail. But if Coffey won, D’Angelo would go to trial.
The match saw involvement from Gallus at ringside, which prompted the debuting Lucien Price and Bronco Nima to make their first NXT TV appearance by staring down the NXT Tag Team Champions.
It was also revealed that Stacks was working with D’Angelo the whole time as a voicemail from “The Don” played in the arena during the bout. In the end, Stacks introduced a crowbar and made it seem like Wolfgang was going to use it against him. Once Gallus was ejected, Stacks hit the Curb Knee Drop on Coffey for the win.
As a result, D’Angelo will be released from custody. He was arrested during the May 23 edition of NXT for his participation in the disappearance of Pretty Deadly.
D’Angelo will celebrate his homecoming on the July 18 episode of WWE NXT.
