WWE NXT Gold Rush will culminate with a loaded show.
During the June 13 episode of WWE NXT, WWE announced that the Gold Rush special would begin on June 20 and conclude on June 27. The second week of the special will feature an NXT Championship match where Carmelo Hayes will defend the gold against Baron Corbin. In the main event on Tuesday, Corbin defeated Ilja Dragunov to earn the title shot.
Near the end of the match, Bron Breakker entered the ring and tried to attack Dragunov. Corbin capitalized on the distraction and hit the End of Days for the win. Hayes then attacked Corbin and stood tall over him.
Plus, Tiffany Stratton will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail. On the June 6 episode of WWE NXT, Hail won a battle royal and earned a title match with Stratton.
Additionally, Gallus will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship. Their challengers will be determined in a Triple Threat Match on the June 20 episode, where Malik Blade and Edris Enofe, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger will battle it out for a title shot.
The card for the June 27 episode of WWE NXT is as follows:
- NXT Championship: Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Baron Corbin
- NXT Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Thea Hail
- NXT Tag Team Championship: Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. TBD
