AEW CEO Tony Khan praises Bryan Danielson‘s mind for wrestling and shares his thoughts on working with him on AEW creative.
Danielson, a renowned veteran of the business, has been working on the AEW creative team recently, and, per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, he was behind the Championship Friday” edition of AEW Rampage on June 2. A previous report stated that he was specifically set to be part of the creative team for AEW Collision.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Khan discussed working with Danielson and described what makes him so valuable to AEW.
“Bryan and I have had a very close relationship since he came to AEW,” Khan said. “He’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and he’s one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever known. He has a great mind, and I love talking to him about stories, matches, ideas and psychology.
“I work with a number of people closely to bounce ideas off, and Bryan has been involved with us in the office more than ever lately. He had some very complimentary things to say about our relationship and working together, and to receive that type of praise from someone I respect so much, those are quotes I’d want on my tombstone.”
Danielson will face Kazuchika Okada in a major dream match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 25. More information is available here.
WrestleZone will have coverage of the June 7 episode of AEW Dynamite as it airs on Wednesday.
