All Elite Wrestling reportedly held a meeting ahead of AEW Double or Nothing.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that the company held a mandatory PR meeting for both talent and staff on May 27, the day before the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
New public relations hire Adam Hopkins led the meeting; Hopkins joined AEW after he was let go by WWE earlier in 2023. He had spent over 25 years with the company, and he has been with AEW in recent months. Per sources, Hopkins spoke about some of AEW’s preferences as a company, and he also shared his own experience at the meeting.
Media literacy was emphasized as a topic at the meeting, as talent were told that it was important to establish “off the record” conversations in certain situations when speaking with “dirt sheets.” This discussion was seen as informative, with the intent to help talent and staff protect the company and themselves. Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli also spoke at the meeting.
Sapp cited sources who spoke highly of the meeting and Hopkins’ experience. One talent called him a game-changing hire for AEW, while another talent stated that the meeting was useful.
