A new report offers an update on Mark Davis of Aussie Open after the NJPW star was forced to relinquish two sets of titles due to an injury.
At NJPW Resurgence on May 21, Kyle Fletcher announced that his tag team partner, Mark Davis, was unable to compete because he was injured. As a result, they relinquished the IWGP Tag Team Championship and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship.
In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Davis had arthroscopic surgery on his knee, as he had sustained a torn meniscus. Meltzer referenced sources close to Davis who noted that he will be back soon, with six weeks or even sooner being cited as the timetable.
Aussie Open were scheduled to defend their titles against EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi and Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI at NJPW Dominion on June 4. Now, the challengers will face each other in a double title match.
