The following results are from Tri-State Wrestling’s Double Down event that took place on May 13. In addition to the match card (results below), the event featured a special appearance by Erick Redbeard, fka Erick Rowan in WWE.
Tri-State Wrestling Double Down – May 13, 2023
“Pac Man” Justin Xavier defeated “The Viral One” Millz Hendrix via pinfall
Sam Beale defeated Blake “Money” Wright via pinfall
- TSW broadcaster Joe Dombrowski brought out Tre’ Lamar to talk about all the speculation regarding his actions during the TSW Heavyweight Championship match at Squared Circle Expo in April. Lamar’s involvement in the match ended up allowing VsK to hit Myron Reed with the championship belt and earn the victory to retain his title. After entering the ring, Lamar stated that what happened was an accident and that he wanted to bring Myron out to apologize and bury the hatchet. Reed entered the ring as well and said despite how angry he was about Tre’ costing him the match, he’s willing to forgive him due to their history as friends and training partners. However, Myron stated that after this, he doesn’t want Tre’ to be involved in his business any longer. The two competitors shook hands to the appreciation of the crowd.
GPA defeated 12 Gaige via pinfall
- After the match, GPA helped 12 Gaige to his feet and shook his hand, seemingly giving the young man kudos for the match. Instead, it was the beginning of a sneak attack, as GPA clotheslined Gaige and began attacking him again. However, GPA received his own shock when the giant Erick Redbeard emerged from the back to the ring. GPA feigned fighting Redbeard before rolling outside. But before he could get away, 12 Gaige was there to send GPA right back inside, where Redbeard had his Claw Slam waiting. With GPA out on the mat, Redbeard and 12 Gaige celebrated with the cheering fans.
“The Firestarter” Jake Crist with Bobby Olsen defeated “Certified” Luke Kurtis via pinfall
“The Golden State Gold” Carson Drake defeated “The Fanny Pack Kid” Kal Herro via pinfall
“The Young GOAT” Myron Reed and “The Wolf of Wrestling” Stephen Wolf defeated TSW Heavyweight Champion VsK and Tre’ Lamar via pinfall
After the match, VSK high-tailed it to the back clutching his championship, while a dejected Lamar exchanged glances with Reed before heading through the curtain as well.
