Ric Flair expresses his interest in hypothetically facing Roman Reigns and MJF if he was still in his prime.
Speaking on To Be The Man, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer was asked to name who he would want to face at WrestleMania in his prime, and he pointed to Roman Reigns and MJF, the reigning world champions in WWE and AEW.
“I would love to wrestle Roman Reigns,” Flair said. “Roman in my prime, someone who’s around right now. If I was a heel, which I would be, I’d love to wrestle MJF. I’d be the heel all day long. You couldn’t get me started. But he’s tremendous and he’s got that spirit. I would like that challenge. He would think he could out-heel me, but he couldn’t, not if I was 35 years old. Even 40.”
Flair also shared his thoughts on Reigns defeating Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania. He noted that he was surprised, but he stated that he thinks the company has a plan that seemingly centers around Reigns.
“I kinda was, yeah,” Flair said. I thought Cody would go over. But obviously they have plans, and Roman right now is their flagship guy. So who knows? It was a great match.”
Flair, now 74, returned to the ring at the Roc Flair’s Last Match event in July 2022, where he and Andrade El Idolo defeated Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. He recently shared his belief as to why WWE and AEW won’t hire him; check out his comments here.
