Vince McMahon was at WWE WrestleMania 39, but he reportedly wasn’t just there to visit.
The former WWE CEO retired on July 22, 2022 amid a WWE board investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money. He returned to the company on January 6, and he was voted the Executive Chairman of the Board on January 10, though multiple reports have stated that Triple H maintained control of creative. McMahon was backstage visiting at the March 6 taping of WWE RAW, and he was set to attend WWE WrestleMania 39.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that McMahon was indeed at the show, and he had his own office near Gorilla Position. He was reportedly wearing a headset in order to give feedback, ask questions, and comment throughout the show. The report also indicated that Triple H was the “point person”, but McMahon was there in a “supervisory role.”
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the report was accurate and expressed that, while McMahon wasn’t running the show, he was “very much involved now.”
