Zoey Stark discusses her upcoming match at NXT Stand & Deliver and emphasizes that she’s feeling confident.
Stark will challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship in a high-profile match at the premium live event on April 1; she will face Gigi Dolin, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, Indi Hartwell, and reigning champion Roxanne Perez in a Ladder Match.
Speaking with WrestleZone managing editor Bill Pritchard, Stark was asked whether she feels nervous ahead of the show. She stated that she’s confident, but the idea of going out and competing in front of thousands of people is scary. However, Stark emphasized that there’s nothing better than overcoming that fear and being in the moment.
“No, I feel great right now. I am [going into a ladder match this weekend.] I’m fully confident. Completely confident….It’s scary, right. I’m gonna be out there in front of thousands of people, thousands and thousands of people watching at home.
“So it’s frightening, but there’s nothing better than overcoming that fear and going out there and feeling like you’re at home. No matter what it is, yeah, it’s scary. But you just gotta go out there and do it, and then all that fear, it washes away. As you’re in that moment, it goes away.”
Stark noted that she works out and then she’s “at home” when she hears her music, which signals that it’s time to go out and perform. When asked to describe what’s next for her, she made it clear that she’s focused on the present and the NXT Women’s Championship.
“I don’t man. I’m really focused on the present right now,” Stark said. “For me, it’s about the NXT Women’s Championship, and that’s what I need to focus on.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of NXT Stand & Deliver as it airs on April 1.
